The world premier of Amy Hartman’s play “The Chicken Snake” began its run on November 15th and continued through December 9th, 2007 at The Pittsburgh Playhouse. The Chicken Snake is “absurdly comic, rutally poetic, and strangely alluring.”
The run was a huge success with sold-out shows and standing ovations at each performance.
The Chicken Snake was awarded The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Grant for Outstanding Achievement by an Artist, the play was also selected by The Lincoln Center’s Director’s Lab and received a reading at The Manhattan Theatre Club and a reading at The NYC Diverse Theatre AEA. The play was premiered at The Point Park Repertory Company AEA November 2007 to sell out crowds and rave reviews.
